Inwangsan Fortress Hike: History & Views
Start at Independence Gate, pass a temple and follow the Seoul Fortress Wall to the summit of Inwangsan. Enjoy sweeping city views and end with a coffee stop together.

🔹 Start: Independence Gate (Seodaemun Station, Exit 4)
We’ll meet near Independence Gate, a historic landmark symbolizing Korea’s fight for sovereignty. From here, the trail quickly takes us uphill into forest.
🔹 Part 1: Temple Visit
On the way up, we pass by a Buddhist temple (and shamanic shrines nearby), where the blend of traditional beliefs and mountain setting gives a unique cultural insight.
🔹 Part 2: Fortress Wall Trail
We follow the Seoul Fortress Wall as it winds up the ridge. The wall itself is centuries old and offers a perfect storytelling moment about Seoul’s history as a walled city.
🔹 Part 3: Inwangsan Summit (338m)
Reaching the peak, we’re rewarded with sweeping views of Seoul — Gyeongbokgung Palace, Namsan Tower, and even Bukhansan in the distance on clear days. It’s a perfect photo and rest stop.
🔹 Part 4: Descent & Wrap-Up
We descend along fortress paths with more viewpoints before returning to the city. The hike ends with time to relax and recharge over food or a snack together.

Achasan & Yongmasan Ridge Hike
Start at Achasan, follow the ridge to Yongmasan, and enjoy sweeping views of the Han River and Seoul’s skyline. Wrap up with a well-earned break to enjoy food and refresh.

🔹 Start: Achasan Station (Line 5, Exit 2)
We’ll meet at the station and walk about 15 minutes to the trailhead, passing through a quiet residential neighborhood.
🔹 Part 1: Climb to Achasan (287m)
The trail begins with wooden steps through forest. Soon, the trees open up to reveal the first viewpoints over the Han River and Lotte Tower. Along the way, we’ll spot old military bunkers from the Korean War.
🔹 Part 2: Ridge Walk to Yongmasan (348m)
The ridge trail offers gentle ups and downs with rocky outcrops and rest pavilions. From here, enjoy panoramic views stretching from Olympic Bridge to Bukhansan.
🔹 Part 3: Yongmasan Summit
A short but steeper climb leads us to the top of Yongmasan, where sweeping views of eastern Seoul unfold. This is our perfect photo stop and break point.
🔹 Part 4: Descent & Wrap-Up
We descend through shady forest trails and finish with a well-deserved snack or meal together before heading back.

Gwanaksan Mountain & Hermitage Trail
Climb Gwanaksan’s rocky trails to Yeonjuam Hermitage, perched on granite cliffs, and take in sweeping views over southern Seoul before descending through quiet forest paths.

We begin on forested slopes, quickly leaving the city behind. The trail starts gently but soon turns into rocky paths leading higher up the mountain.
🔹 Part 1: Forest & Rocky Trails
The hike winds through quiet woods and onto granite outcrops, offering occasional viewpoints. The steeper sections add a sense of adventure and reward along the way.
🔹 Part 2: Yeonjuam Hermitage
Dramatically perched on a granite cliff, this temple has one of the most striking settings in Seoul. It’s a chance to rest, take photos, and hear stories about Korea’s mountain spirituality.
🔹 Part 3: Summit Views
From around the hermitage ridge, enjoy sweeping views of southern Seoul, the Han River, and surrounding peaks. On clear days, the skyline stretches endlessly.
🔹 Part 4: Descent & Wrap-Up
We head back down through tranquil forest paths, ending the hike with time to refuel over food or a snack together.
